UnderMine

Kevin Manrique

Kevin is a Bitcoin miner and educator with a background in real estate valuation, based in Tampa, Florida. His Bitcoin journey began in 2017, leading him to experiment with node hardware, software, and eventually mining. Starting with a single home miner, he expanded his operation by building a dedicated mining outbuilding and gaining hands-on experience at mining sites across the U.S. Kevin has contributed educational content to Bitcoin Magazine and Ungovernable Misfits, created technical documentation for mining platforms, and actively moderates home mining Telegram channels. Now at Altair Technology, he continues to help Bitcoin miners optimize operations and harness excess energy for mining.

The future of Bitcoin mining heat reuse is being built from the ground up—by plebs. This panel highlights the DIY innovation driving small-scale mining, where tinkerers and builders are modifying industrial ASICs for home heating. From Loki boards enabling 110V power conversion to custom firmware, quieter fans, and Wi-Fi-enabled setups, these grassroots solutions are making hashrate heating accessible. Without this hands-on experimentation, Bitcoin mining heat reuse wouldn’t be where it is today. Join us as we explore how open-source development, community collaboration, and small-scale ingenuity are paving the way for a new era of mining at home.
